The Experience

  • We offer one all-inclusive wedding package designed for a relaxed 3-day weekend celebration. Your time on the property is exclusive — allowing setup, celebration, and teardown without the pressure of a single day’s schedule.

  • We hope you feel free to design the weekend to fit your own pace and style. That said, we are happy to share how others have planned their wedding weekends.

    Friday afternoon:

Family and friends arrive and park outside the barn to begin unloading decorations, flowers, equipment, etc. They have coordinated with vendors to arrive throughout the afternoon, setting up rented items that might include tents, tables and chairs, linens and place settings, and flowers. The goal is often to get the barn as ready as possible by the end of afternoon, so it is all set to go before the wedding the next day.

Some guests work into the evening, until the setup transitions into a rehearsal and a casual rehearsal dinner in the barn.

Others take a more formal approach to the rehearsal, hiring a caterer for cocktails and passed appetizers to enjoy in the barn. For those who opt for the full farmhouse rental, the rehearsal dinner or cocktail hour works equally well in the farmhouse. The downstairs rooms flow from one room to the next, with tables to hold drinks or appetizers, so guests can mingle and wander, taking in the beautiful art and landscapes of Maine in a charmingly restored historic home.

  • The hilltop is where the farmstead is located, and the hilltop ceremony is between the farmhouse and the barn. The primary benefit of the hilltop ceremony site is easy access to the farmhouse, where the wedding party is preparing and to the barn, where the reception is most often held.

The meadow ceremony site is located at the base of the hill, within a large, gently rolling field that is rimmed with woods and stone walls. While this site is remote from the farmstead, it is also more peacefully removed. Guests can park their vehicles in one of the mowed fields and walk through a stone wall to a mowed ceremony area, set up with an arbor and seating surrounded by the peace and beauty of wild grasses and flowers.

    Very different experiences, both beautiful.
